If you’ve followed Signature Detailing for a while, you may know we’ve offered System X ceramic coatings for a number of years. As of September 2026, Cerakote is now our standard ceramic coating. We like to be transparent with our customers, so here’s why we made the change and what it means for you.
This isn’t a knock on System X
We still believe System X products are very effective, and they’ve served our customers well. This was simply about finding the best fit for our shop and our customers going forward.
Why Cerakote?
Cerakote is a large, well-established company that does its own research, development and manufacturing, rather than relabelling someone else’s product. Their customer service has been the best we’ve dealt with, and they back their warranties directly.
The coating is also very consistent to apply, which helps us deliver reliable results on every vehicle.
Best of all, switching to Cerakote has allowed us to lower our ceramic coating prices significantly while offering the same level of service and care you’ve always received from us. On top of that, every coating now includes a complete take-home aftercare kit at no extra charge.
We also believe in setting realistic expectations. Cerakote’s Best-In-Class 5 Year Limited Warranty reflects an honest lifespan for a ceramic coating, and that’s how we like to do business.
Already have System X? You’re covered
If your vehicle has a System X coating from us, nothing changes. We’re still actively maintaining all System X warranties on our customers’ vehicles and will continue to follow through on them. And if you specifically want System X, we’re happy to install it for you.
What you get with Cerakote
Our Cerakote Professional Ceramic Coating starts at $1,400 plus tax (higher for trucks and SUVs). It includes a thorough wash and decontamination, single-stage paint correction, panel prep, and a take-home aftercare kit. It’s backed by Cerakote’s Best-In-Class 5 Year Limited Warranty (kept active with our twice-yearly Ceramic Maintenance Wash), and when it’s maintained properly or the vehicle is kept in a garage, it can even last beyond that.
To keep your warranty active, we just need to see your vehicle twice a year for our Ceramic Maintenance Wash ($250 plus tax). It includes a ceramic-safe hand wash, iron and fallout removal, a Cerakote ceramic topper, and a full inspection to make sure your coating is performing the way it should. As a Cerakote customer, you’ll also get 20% off every Ceramic Maintenance Wash.
New vehicle? Save $200
Brand-new vehicles, or vehicles in brand-new condition, save $200 on any Cerakote coating package, subject to inspection. They still get full prep, plus a light polish where needed.
