Paint correction: what is it?

Paint correction is machine polishing that levels a very thin layer of clear coat to reduce swirls, light scratches, haze and oxidation, improving gloss and clarity. Packages are priced plus tax and confirmed after we inspect your paint.

Why correct your paint?

Bring back the gloss

Reducing swirls and haze lets light reflect cleanly again, bringing back depth and gloss that years of washing and weather have dulled.

Ready for protection

Correction leaves a clean, smooth surface. That is the best time to add a Cerakote coating or PPF so the gloss lasts.

Help at resale time

Clean, glossy paint makes a strong first impression when you sell or trade in, and can help your car stand out next to similar listings.

FAQs

Not often. Each correction removes a little clear coat, so we only recommend it when swirls and haze bother you again. Careful washing, plus a coating or PPF, keeps that to a minimum.

Not always. Polishing reduces light and moderate scratches, but anything through the clear coat needs touch-up or body shop work. We will tell you what to expect after an inspection.

Correction is a more involved form of polishing. It uses one or more compounding and polishing steps to reduce defects, while a light polish mainly adds gloss.
